Monks Hood brings elements of jazz, soul, folk, Latin and pop to every performance. With original songs and select covers Monks Hood reaches out to audiences with their musicianship and their own unique vocal based originals. The group was formed from two members of the popular Northwest dance band Disco Organica, Scharf the keyboardist and Ogle the bassist. Their influences include Herbie Hancock, Olu Dara, John Hiatt, Paul Simon, Al Green, Miles davis and so many more....Each show offers a wide variety of elements from upbeat soul grooves to softer vocal based ballads.
