Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Vanessa learned to appreciate the hues and vivacity of foreign cultures, developing sensitivity to diversity that would later stoke her thirst for travel and openness to new experiences. While living in South America, Vanessa and her husband shared songs that they loved, and in turn, learned much. Fascinated by the variety and quality of music they were exposed to, they were inspired to weave those melodies, those lessons, into their music. Their music came to reflect the struggle of the peoples of South America for Social Justice. Their latest cd is in honor of talented musicians of South America, of Nueva Canción, the era and musicians who fought for social justice and created amazing music, who helped usher in reform. Their music represents the significance of Nueva Canción, liberation, altruism, solidarity and respect for humanity.
